What restaurant operators ask us first.
Can Checkly handle different overtime rules for kitchen vs FOH staff?
Yes. Each role has its own shift template, regular hours, and overtime threshold. A line cook on the 14:00–22:00 shift accrues overtime after 22:00; a waiter on 11:00–19:00 accrues it after 19:00. The math is automatic.
How does shift swapping work over WhatsApp?
Staff request swaps inside Checkly. When a swap is proposed, the manager gets a WhatsApp message with one-tap approve or deny. Approved swaps update the schedule immediately and notify both staff members.
Does this work for venues with hourly + salaried mix?
Yes — that's the default F&B reality. Hourly staff are paid from clock-in/clock-out data with per-shift rate rules. Salaried staff have their attendance tracked for compliance and overtime, but their base pay stays fixed.
Can each venue have its own QR code and GPS perimeter?
Yes. Each location gets a unique QR code printed at the staff entrance and a configurable GPS radius. A staffer at Venue A can't accidentally clock in for Venue B, even if they're in the same neighborhood.
What happens if WiFi drops at the venue?
Clock-ins are cached on the device and synced when connectivity returns. The geofenced timestamp is preserved, so the offline check-in still records the correct time and location.
How long does onboarding take for a 5-venue group?
Most groups are live within 2 weeks. Week 1: venue setup, staff import, role templates, BPJS configuration. Week 2: parallel run with existing payroll, train managers, go live for the next pay period.
